David Schwimmer is the latest Friends costar to finally break his silence and pay tribute to Matthew Perry’s tragic passing. In a recent post on Schwimmer’s official Instagram, the award-winning actor shared a still from one of his “favorite moments” with the late comedy legend.
David Schwimmer Writes Touching Tribute To Matthew Perry
In a heartfelt public message, the Friends alum shared how he’ll “never forget [Perry’s] impeccable comic timing and delivery,” and paid tribute to how the sitcom star “could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it […] resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes.”
Ending the post in a rather emotive way, Schwimmer echoes Chandler Bing’s iconic catchphrase: “I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, hands in your pockets, looking around– Could there BE any more clouds?”

Interestingly, the specific image is from Season 5, Episode 8 “The One with All the Thanksgivings”, which is a beloved episode from the popular show. In it, we bear witness to a flashback where we are introduced to younger versions of Ross, Chandler, Rachel, and Monica. In fact, we even get to see Chandler getting acquainted with Monica for the very first time — who has a wee crush on the wise-cracking Chan Chan Man.
Of course, the star behind everybody’s favorite awkward-yet-lovable character, Chandler Bing, was found unresponsive in his hot tub on October 28. The remaining five Friends stars attended Perry’s funeral on November 3.
