A man from Washington, DC, has sparked a racial debate after ranting about how White people seem to sacrifice themselves too much for other races and that they supposedly need to stop. According to the man, this has been the case ever since the United States became a country and has continued in most wars where the US was involved.
Budding social media influencer Olawale Arogundade from Washington, DC, is the man in question. On July 28, he posted a video on his social media accounts with the caption, “END White Sacrifice.” In the clip, Arogundade explains that “Everybody hates White people because they have the capacity to be the bigger person.” He added, “Over the past 161 years up to 1700s, American White men have died for the sake of other races!”
He then cited US war efforts from World War 2 where White people fought for Jewish liberation and are still “fighting for the Jewish state” in the Middle East. The oldest example he referred to was also from the Civil War, where White people supposedly fought each other “for the sake of Black liberation.” The influencer then argues, “Who the [expletive] moves like this for other races?”
“Clearly, all the black and brown races are insecure and feel insecure because they would never make the same sacrifices White people have made for the sake of other races,” claims the influencer. So far, it appears the message of his rant isn’t exactly to dissuade “White people” from “making sacrifices for other races” but to actually acknowledge the score between races.
People online have chimed in on the racial discussion
Arogundade’s post has since gone viral on Instagram and has led to thousands of comments and hundreds of thousands of views. The influencer has gained praise from fellow Instagram users, with one commenter even saying, “As a white person. We truly don’t care about color. Just be a good person, please.”
Even Black people have also praised Arogundade for his views and his take on certain demographics doing something for other races. “My proud black grandma from the south would highly agree with you,” claims a Black Instagram user. Others, however, have argued against the influencer’s points, stating that, “It’s not because they’re white. It’s because they’re Christian trying to follow Jesus.”
Some even mocked the influencer with some rather controversial comments, such as, “White people created your favorite word.Think about that,” with another agreeing with the sentiment, “Boy gotta b trollin.” In any case, the influencer’s tirade appears to be a response to a growing rhetoric about racism or hate against certain races, such as White people, that even celebrities have joined recently.
