One of the most controversial topics we’ve heard of in Florida lately is about the 10$ million that the DeSantis administration allegedly misused. This supposed misappropriation was one of the most talked-about things for a while, and it just became even bigger, as it seems one judge just wants to erase everything. What makes matters worse, or a bit more questionable, is the fact that it seems the judge who is trying to erase or dismiss the case was appointed by Governor DeSantis.
As a bit of context before delving into today’s news, a couple of weeks ago, the Florida Grand Jury discovered that $10 million had allegedly been misused by the DeSantis administration. The investigation said that this money was supposed to go to Hope Florida. However, it ended up funding a political campaign to oppose the legalization of marijuana. Unfortunately, since there was no evidence of who did this, the case went quiet.
Today, however, the case has become relevant, but for all the wrong reasons. Apparently, there is one DeSantis-appointed judge who has claimed that the jury made mistakes when it said those leading Florida had misused the money.
On top of that, the judge seems to be looking for ways to criminally charge those who leaked information about the $10 million. With the news about this alleged prosecution, many locals in the state have again criticized DeSantis, as this makes him and his administration look bad.
Florida Voters Angry at DeSantis and the Judge’s Ruling
Since the $10 million situation was pretty big in the state, many are worried that nothing has happened to solve it. Ever since the beginning, it seems people were ready to dismiss it, as the case lacked evidence. Now, with DeSantis supposedly appointing a judge to check the case, it looks a bit suspicious, as many Redditors put it.
“A DeSantis-appointed judge. Go figure.”
“A DeSantis-appointed judge says the jury was mistaken. Hmmmm. Nothing to see here.“
Many have even been wondering if this will affect votes somehow. Yet, judging by the above Reddit post and many people in Florida, that might not be the case.
“Many people who are going to vote for republicans don’t care what republicans do because, to them, it’s as simple as things Republicans do = good and things that Democrats do = bad.“
Despite the somewhat bad news about the $10 million case, people are still hoping that the jury or someone discovers who was the culprit behind the alleged misuse.
