Disney Dreamlight Valley is a, you guessed it, Disney-themed “life-simulation adventure game.” Here, you can craft useful tools, cook delicious food, and build your own Disney fantasy home while playing with the company’s famous animated characters, from Goofy to Moana. The game is actually to be released in 2023, but players can already get their hands on the Early Access build. Considering the popularity of multiplayer-capable life-simulation titles like Stardew Valley, does Disney Dreamlight Valley also feature online multiplayer or any co-op functionality?
Does Disney Dreamlight Valley Have Online or Offline Multiplayer?
Regrettably, Disney Dreamlight Valley does not offer online multiplayer capabilities at the time of writing. There is no split-screen or any offline couch co-op functionality in Disney Dreamlight Valley as well. But that does not imply that the game will never have a multiplayer option.
While the game can be played on all current gaming platforms through a Game Pass subscription or buying the Founder’s Pack, Disney Dreamlight Valley is still in Early Access and not quite “fully developed” yet from a development standpoint. With that in mind, although the Early Access version only supports single-player mode, there is a chance a future update will include a multiplayer option. Speaking with IGN, developer Gameloft has said that it is planning to add multiplayer in the near future, although it doesn’t say any details when. The game itself will be officially launched as a free-to-play title in 2023, and a specific date is yet to be revealed.
As some sort of a consolation, playing Disney Dreamlight Valley during its first week or before September 13 at midnight ET will earn you two bonus rewards: a Mickey Mouse Donut Headband and the Choco Crocodile Animal Companion. If Gameloft decides to add a multiplayer feature to this game, we’ll let you know; so don’t forget to check out The Nerd Stash often.
