Donald Trump is gunning for the Father of the Year and Husband of the Year titles. The former president, who is currently in the middle of his hush money trial, took time off to celebrate his son Barron Trump’s graduation from high school. Melania Trump joined Donald for the big day, despite sources saying the former first lady didn’t want her husband present.
Donald & Melania Trump Are Proud Parents At Son’s Graduation
Melania and Donald put up a united front at Barron’s high school graduation ceremony. The couple arrived together at the Oxbridge Academy ceremony held at West Palm Beach, surrounded by bodyguards. The former head of state was in good spirits despite the myriad of legal issues he is dealing with. Donald, who donned his signature navy blue suit with a white shirt and blue tie, couldn’t contain his smile, per Page Six.
At one point, the disgraced politician stood up and leaned over the banister to wave to the graduates — a move that got his wife, Melania, thrilled. Although she is often stoical in her appearance, Melania seemed to be in a happy mood as she lovingly placed her hand at her husband’s side.
For their son’s special day, the former model wore a white dress underneath a black blazer. She spiced up her look with a straw hat. Donald and Melania embodied proud parents as they cheered and clapped when Barron walked across the stage to receive his diploma.
Melania Trump Wasn’t Initially Excited About Donald’s Presence
The Trumps’ cozy display no doubt raises eyebrows. Sources previously claimed Melania didn’t want her husband to show up for their son’s graduation. Last month, Donald’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, spilled some family gossip while on MediasTouch Network’s Political Beatdown podcast.
Cohen publicly bashed Donald’s parenting skills, saying the businessman was rarely involved in his son’s education.
“I wasn’t aware he went to any of the kids’ graduations. Not to mention, when it related to school here in Manhattan, this, of course, was way prior to Trump decided to run. It was Melania and I that put Barron into school here,” the attorney claimed.
Cohen then noted that Melania wouldn’t mind if Donald failed to show up for his son’s graduation.
“Before I start shedding a tear for him, for Barron, and I’m sure Melania is extremely excited he’s not going to be there, rest assured,” he declared.
It seems Cohen was wrong about this one thing.
