While it is an indisputable truth that you are, in fact, maidenless in Elden Ring, you can always refute such an insult with the power of huge, hulking heaps of iron called Colossal Weapons. They’re the most powerful statements for argument in Elden Ring, and not many NPCs will dare call you maidenless from a bonking distance. For any Tarnished who likes to talk softly and carry a big stick, these Colossal Weapons in Elden Ring are the best.

Zweihander

Location: Isolated Merchant west of Weeping Peninsula, Limgrave.

If you want to get started right away with the caveman tendencies, then the Zweihander is your best bet. It’s not as robust or as intimidating as the other Colossal Weapons in Elden Ring, but at least it won’t block your view.

Moreover, being accessible almost as soon as you step into Limgrave makes it a standard choice for many Warrior builds.

Starscourge Greatsword

Location: Enia at Roundtable Hold after defeating Starscourge Radahn.

Speaking of the more refined Colossal Weapons in Elden Ring, the Starscrouge Greatsword embodies General Radahn’s brains and brawn. This boss weapon’s special attack involves gravity magically pulling enemies in before slamming them down into the void.

It’s not really as useful in PvE as it is for PvP, but it’s incredibly stylish and transforms into dual blades if you two-hand it.

Prelate’s Inferno Crozier

Location: Fire Prelate drop in Fort Laiedd, Mt. Gelmir, Altus Plateau.

While Colossal Weapon users have the sophistication of cavemen, that doesn’t mean they ditched form for function. Prelate’s Inferno Crozier is a good antithesis. It’s a beautiful yet comically large hammer with a good default Ash of War.

Surprisingly, it’s also customizable and uses regular Smithing Stones, making it one of the more accessible Colossal Weapons in the game.

Ruins Greatsword

Location: Defeat the Misbegotten Warrior and Crucible Knight dual boss in Redmane Castle Plaza, Caelid (prior to fighting Radahn). Alternatively, you can defeat Radahn and exhaust Witch-Hunter Jerren’s dialog.

It’s literally a broken piece of building strapped to steel and weaponized. You can’t get cruder than that, but the weapon’s absurd origins belies its strength. The Ruins Greatsword is one of the most impressive Colossal Weapons in Elden Ring.

You might even get more mileage out of this special weapon than the Starscourge Greatsword. It has a more focused projectile wave Ash of War that can stagger bosses.

Giant-Crusher

Location: Carriage chest south of Outer Wall Phantom Tree Site of Grace, Altus Plateau.

One of the more popular pure Strength builds in Elden Ring would be the jump attack where players power-stance two Giant-Crushers and flatten most bosses in as little as one to two hits. Such a feat would’ve been less viable without the Giant-Crusher hammer.

This is the Colossal Weapon you choose when you want a no-nonsense and earnest way to slay the gods. You’ll have trouble with visibility as it takes up 15 percent of the whole screen, but with your enemies dead or flattened, that’s not much of an issue.

Fallingstar Beast Jaw

Location: Full-Grown Fallinstar Beast boss in Mt. Gelmir, Altus Plateau.

You’ll be rewarded handsomely after defeating the troublesome and janky Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast. Using its jaw as a weapon is quite the power move. The Fallingstar Beast Jaw is also one of the best cheese weapons in Elden Ring.

The Weapon Skill, Gravity Bolt, is a spammable and quick ranged attack that’s almost hit-scan due to its animation. It’s thus useful in both PvE and PvP, even though its stance damage got nerfed.

Location: Carriage chest in Caelid, north-west of the Caelem Ruins Site of Grace.

My recommendation still goes to the most obvious and most faithful Berserk reference in Elden Ring, the aptly named “Greatsword.” It’s a callback to the Dragonslayer sword in Berserk and it’s quite frankly, the best Colossal Sword in Elden Ring.

Pair it with the Lion’s Claw Ash of War (which is also a Berserk reference) and you win the game with bosses that get staggered in 2-3 hits and enemies that can’t even attack back. While you’re at it, you might as well cosplay as Guts from Berserk. That’s the only way to use this weapon.

Elden Ring is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
