Cloud is an awkward Chocobo who pretends to be aloof and cool. While you can continue being distant from your allies, you have a choice to deepen Cloud’s relationships with others. The game offers several methods to increase your favorability, such as completing side quests and picking suitable dialogue options. If you wish to max out all the relationships, we can help you select the best dialogue choices in each chapter of FF7 Rebirth.

FF7 Rebirth Relationship Guide

The Bonds of Friendship is a relationship mechanic in FF7 Rebirth, where you can perform various actions to deepen your relationship with your allies. During downtimes, you can usually see an emoji icon above each character’s head. It starts from a neutral-gray face and can turn into a sky-blue smiling face.

The Bonds of Friendship won’t affect the main story but will change minor events in some chapters. For example, during your first visit to Gold Saucer, the character with the highest favorability will ask you out on a date. During my FF7 Rebirth playthrough, my relationship with Aerith was deeper than Tifa’s, so the flower girl was the one who showed up.

There are four ways to increase your relationship in FF7 Rebirth:

  • Story Missions
  • Side Quests
  • Dialogue Choices
  • Synergy Skills & Abilities

Progressing through the main story and completing side quests is the fastest way to deepen your relationship in FF7 Rebirth. The related character will usually accompany you during the mission, and you can learn various new things about your ally. For instance, you can increase your favorability with Aerith by completing the Flowers From the Hill quest.

Another way to get Relationship points is by speaking with your friends during resting moments. This generally happens when you visit a new settlement, and you must select the right dialogue choices to deepen your bonds in FF7 Rebirth.

Lastly, you can get some relationship points by performing new Synergy Skills or Abilities. The game will mark the skill you haven’t performed with a small dot on the corner.
