A video has been circulating on TikTok that puts a Florida company on blast for the “ridiculous” job listing they posted on the employment website Indeed. Users quickly took to the comments to share their opinions on the situation and to discuss a broader conversation about the state of job security in the United States of America.
The TikTok video in question shows an Indeed job posting for a videographer, photographer, and marketing all-star in one role. For a combination of the three jobs, the posting lists the salary as $20-$25 per hour for full-time.
The job listing then goes on to describe the role itself, detailing tasks and responsibilities clearly meant for someone in a higher position. Part of the listing reads, “This is not a ‘show up and follow a checklist” job. You’ll be responsible for helping us develop, test, and scale content that actually performs.“
Currently, job hunting in the United States of America has become difficult for many citizens. There have been multiple reports of people applying for hundreds of positions only to hear back from none of them, not even a rejection letter.
Reactions to Florida Indeed Job Posting
Users quickly jumped into the replies to share their opinion on the post, with one person writing, “This is basically asking one person to be their entire pr team.” Another person wrote, “This is literally 8 different jobs.”
The reason this clip is going viral is the ridiculous qualifications listed in the post, including living in a HUBZone. A HUBZone is an area that encourages growth by giving preference to small businesses with a 3% annual contracting goal. This means that the company only wants to hire those it can redeem this preference from.
According to the video, “let’s review this job posting again. So, you produce, you write, you shoot, you edit, you light, you do sound, you do art direction, you’re a social media manager, a strategist, and an analyst. And let’s not forget a marketing [expletive] all-star. And what are you paying? $20 – $25 an hour.”
As this video continues to circulate on TikTok, it is unclear if the company named in the video has commented on the situation. However, the original poster has continued updating their profile with similar job postings on Indeed.
