This boy seems to be unaffected by the curse. Despite the situation, he remains cheerful and carefree, just like any other child. When you meet him, he will offer to play with you, namely hide and seek. From this point on, there are several options for the development of events, you can agree to do it, or refuse, after which he will get angry. The hide-and-seek game will be divided into two rounds. In the first round, it will be much easier to find the boy, but if you agree to the second round, Oliver will promise to reward you if he loses. Well, let’s talk more about each round.

Round One

As mentioned above, the first round should be much easier. It will start as soon as you agree to play with Oliver, after which the boy will use the invisibility skill to hide. Playing hide and seek with invisibility is not very fair, but we still know where to find him.

During the first round, the boy will hide behind a cart not far from the house. Here are the coordinates: X:60, Y:31. All you have to do is go to the cart and pass a Perception check to spot Oliver. When you find him, the boy will be angry and surprised that you did it, and then he will offer you another round at hide and seek in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Round Two

During the second round, the rules become more complicated, and now you not only have to find Oliver but also avoid meeting his parents, who will attack you if they meet you. This round is also different in that the boy will not wait in one place until you find him, but will constantly move around the location.

When you’re ready to act, the first thing you need to do is to regroup, leaving the rest of the team in the house. As one of the characters, go to the place where you first met Oliver. During the alternation of turns, Oliver will move around the location, but eventually, he will go inside the house, where you can catch him. Wait until he stops, then select one of your characters who is closest to Oliver to interact with him. When you start talking to him, he will understand that you have found him, and you will win the second round. Congratulations, now you know how to beat Oliver at hide and seek in Baldur’s Gate 3. As a reward, he will give you the Ring of Shadows, which gives you a +10 bonus to Stealth checks.

If you refuse to play hide and seek with Oliver in Baldur’s Gate 3 or don’t agree to a second round, it will make the boy angry, and his parents will start attacking you. You can also start fighting with them during the second round if they see you. In addition to Oliver, this necro family includes:

  • Daddy
  • Mummy
  • Doggy

All of them, except for the dog, have an aura that causes Shadow Curse. If you get within the radius of the aura, you will receive necrotic damage, so try to avoid close combat and attack from a distance. All of them, except for the dog, have an aura that summons Shadow Curse. If you get inside the radius of the aura, you will take necrotic damage, so try to avoid melee and attack from a distance. Doggy likes to run at opponents and then turn invisible to escape. In addition to all of the above, parents can teleport to the roof of the house and attack you from above, so be prepared for this.

Now you know all the options to beat Oliver at hide and seek in Baldur’s Gate 3. Good luck!
