Want to know how to move the Scuffed Rock in Baldur’s Gate 3? As you progress through Baldur’s Gate 3, players must learn many classic D&D 5E mechanics. But some mechanics are even too simple, which makes it hard to guess how they work at first. When you first encounter Scuffed Rock near crashed ship location, you will also see a treasure chest under a rock. Of course, you want to remove this stone and get the chest contents. But neither brute force in the form of blows with Bludgeoning damage nor spells like Mage Hand will help you. Luckily, it’s much easier, and we’re here to tell you how to move the Scuffed Rock in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Baldur’s Gate 3: Moving The Scuffed Rock
To move the Scuffed Rock in Baldur’s Gate 3, you only need to use your computer mouse and a suitable companion. Go to Rock, click on it, and move it to any place near its current location. This process is similar to how you move shortcuts on your PC desktop. You may have already tried this method but only heard comments from your characters about the giant size of Scuffed Rock. But in fact, your character only needs to have good Strength indicators to perform this action.
Weak mages with Strength 10 or below will never budge Scuffed Rock. But powerful characters such as Shadowheart or Lae’zel with Strength 13+ can easily cope with this task. In addition, your character also can move Scuffed Rock if its Strength is high enough for this action.
But if your team does not have a suitable hero, you can wander around this location a little more. Not far from the crashed ship, you can rescue Lae’zel from the trap, after which she will become part of your team. After that, you can return to Scuffed Rock and open the Ornate Chest.
What Will You Find Inside the Ornate Chest
Once you move the Scuffed Rock, you will finally get access to the Ornate Chest. Like any other chest in the game, some rewards inside the Ornate Chest differ for each player. But here is a list of what you will find inside:
- Harper’s Map
- Harper’s Notebook
- Some Gold
- Potion of Speed
- Various Gems
That’s all you need to know about how to move the Scuffed Rock. Finally, we also add that this challenge is more of a learning step than a puzzle. You must move such stones and objects many times in the further gameplay. So knowing how this mechanic works will be extremely useful.
