Since they’ve been divorced for years, you might wonder why they continue reuniting when they don’t have to. According to an insider, it all comes down to Garner and her desire to spend the holidays as one big happy family.
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s Christmas Was All About Family
A source told People that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck made Christmas plans together so their children could be with both of their parents on the special day. “It’s all for the kids,” they said, adding that Garner inspired the decision based on her own experience as a child. “Jen grew up surrounded by her family for the holidays, and she wants the same for her kids.”
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck share three kids. They welcomed their oldest child, Violet Anne Affleck, in December 2005. Over the years, Violet has gone viral online several times due to her resemblance to the 13 Going On 30 actress. The mother-daughter duo look so much alike that fans have dubbed them “twins.”
Meanwhile, the pair’s second child, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck, was born in January 2009. Although she stays out of the spotlight, rumor has it Seraphina may be following in her parents’ footsteps by getting into acting. Earlier this year, Seraphina performed in her school play. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck attended, along with the Justice League actor’s then-wife Jennifer Lopez.
As for the stars’ youngest child, Samuel Affleck, he was born in February 2012. While not much is known about him, he appears to share his father’s love for sports. The two have been spotted spending quality time together at basketball games. For example, they recently caught the Los Angeles Lakers’ home game against the Toronto Raptors on Nov. 10.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have been getting together with their kids a lot more since the actor’s divorce from Lopez. On Aug. 20, the singer filed for divorce from Affleck after just two years of marriage. Although it’s been tough, Affleck thankfully has Garner looking out for him. “Ben leans on her for everything, heโs got his own place but heโs still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food,” a source told In Touch.
Even though they’re divorced, it’s clear the two still care deeply about each other.
