Over the past year, BLACKPINK has taken a step back from group activities to focus on their solo careers. Although their schedules have looked different these days, Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé have been busier than ever. From launching their own agencies to releasing new solo music, the K-pop stars have had quite an eventful 2024. Since they’ve found so much success as solo artists, some fans have grown worried about the possibility of BLACKPINK disbanding. However, the rumors have just been shut down.
Rumors of BLACKPINK Disbanding Are Not True
BLACKPINK’s management company, YG Entertainment, has officially confirmed that Jennie, Lisa, Jisoo, and Rosé will reunite next year. They’ll not only release new music together but embark on another world tour. “BLACKPINK plans to meet fans with a full group comeback and world tour in 2025,” YG Entertainment said in a new statement.
The company shared the update shortly after announcing that BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” choreography video surpassed 1.7 billion views on YouTube. The achievement makes BLACKPINK the only K-pop group to reach the feat.
“How You Like That” is featured on BLACKPINK’s debut album, The Album, which dropped in October 2020. Since then, they’ve dropped a second record, Born Pink, in September 2022. The group promoted their follow-up album by embarking on their Born Pink world tour. After performing in various cities around the globe for over a year, BLACKPINK officially concluded their concerts in September 2023. They’ve since paused their group activities to advance their solo careers.
Most recently, Lisa made her solo comeback with the singles “Rockstar and “New Woman.” After performing both tracks at the 2024 VMAs, the singer will next take the stage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show on Oct. 15.
