The possibility of NSYNC getting back together has been one of the major topics in the headlines in recent times. The group was a highly popular boy band that became a global phenomenon during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Since their hiatus in 2002, the five-member boy band has only reunited occasionally, with their most recent appearance being at the 2023 VMAs. As expected, NSYNC’s VMA 2023 appearance gave fans hope that the group will get back together. However, could that be the case? Here is all we know.
NSYNC’s Early Years
NSYNC was a successful vocal group that captured the hearts of millions. The band was formed in 1995, consisting of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Joey Fatone, and Lance Bass. The quintet spent their early years performing in Florida and eventually released their self-titled debut album in 1997. The next year, NSYNC landed a record deal with RCA Records. In 2000, the band released their second album No Strings Attached, which became their biggest success. It sold over one million copies on its first day of release. The following year, NSYNC released their third album, Celebrity, continuing their success with hit singles like Pop and Gone.
NSYNC’s Tragic Hiatus
After a few years of thrilling success, the pressures of fame and intense touring schedules began to take a toll on the group. While they originally intended to continue recording music, the group sadly announced an indefinite hiatus in 2002. Two years later, Timberlake announced his departure from the band, leaving fans disheartened.
NSYNC’s Subsequent Reunions
Throughout their hiatus, NSYNC reunited occasionally, mostly during special events. In 2013, NSYNC got back together briefly for a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. Five years later, the group reunited again to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In April 2019, NSYNC shocked fans once more when they appeared on stage during the Coachella performance of Ariana Grande. Four years later, the band has sparked reunion rumors once again. They left fans buzzing with excitement when they appeared on stage at the 2023 VMAs.
Although they didn’t perform, the group presented the award for Best Pop Video to Taylor Swift. As if NSYNC’s VMAs 2023 appearance wasn’t enough, the group took to social media the next day with big news. They revealed they are set to release their first single Better Place in 21 years. The song will be featured in the upcoming film Trolls Band Together.
Will NSYNC Get Back Together for Good?
Speculations that NSYNC might get back together have intensified over the last couple of days. Well, TMZ recently had a chat with Chasez and Bass to get their opinions on the issue. Speaking to the outlet, Chasez shared that he was only focused on the upcoming single for now. Regarding getting back together, Chasez gave fans a glimmer of hope, revealing that “anything is possible.” Bass urged fans to start supporting the ongoing writers and actors strike if they wanted to see the group reunite again. In the meantime, nothing is set in stone, but fans can only hope for the best.
