Blake Lively recently filed a lawsuit against her co-star, Justin Baldoni, from the movie It Ends With Us. In the suit, the actress made several claims against the Ryle Kincaid character and none are pleasant. Although the suit shocked everyone, it confirmed fans’ suspicions about the co-star’s relationship. Various rumors aired during the film’s release, as Baldoni was suspiciously absent from photo sets. Social media users insinuated that Lively and Baldoni were not on good terms with one another. While they did not expect things to turn out like they did, they had an inkling about a brooming feud.
The rumors of a feud between the actors began when fans noticed Baldoni’s absence in promotional pictures for the film. This immediately stirred curiosity among fans, and some even blamed the Gossip Girl actress for his absence. Another reason why fans notice Baldoni’s absence is because he wasn’t working on any project. So fans wondered why he deliberately wanted to miss out on promoting his new film. Nevertheless, with Lively’s suit coming to life, these worries are now alleviated.
According to In Touch Weekly, Lively alleged in the suit that Baldoni was sexually inappropriate during filming. She also purported that the California-born actor made their work environment hostile and “nearly derailed” the movie production. Lively also claimed they had to have an “all hands” meeting due to the actor’s incessant behavior. During the meeting, Lively alleged that she made demands of the 40-year-old actor to keep him in check. This includes– “no more showing nude videos or images of women, including producer’s wife, to BL and or her employees.”
Furthermore, Lively reported that she asked that Baldoni desist from speaking about “pornography” and “asking about her weight.” For her demands not to fall on deaf ears, she also requested an “intimacy coordinator” on set. The suit also claimed that after this meeting, both parties agreed to adhere to the rules. They decided to do this to ensure that “the film could be completed, marketed, and released safely and successfully.”
“No more improvising of kissing. All intimate touch must be choreographed in advance with BL and an intimacy coordinator. No biting or sucking of lip without BL’s consent. And all intimate on-camera touch and conversations must be ‘in character,’ not spoken from Mr. Baldoni to BL personally,” Lively requested in the meeting.
Justin Baldoni Denies Blake Lively’s Claims Vehemently
Following the “sexual harassment” suit against him, Baldoni has garnered media support as fans call out Lively. However, this did not stop the actor from getting dropped by his talent agency, WME. However, he denied his co-star’s claims through his lawyer, Bryan Freedman. In a statement to The New York Times, Freedman called Lively’s suit “categorically false.” He also said that the actress’ attempt at destroying Baldoni is “shameful.”
A day after the suit went viral, Lively made an exclusive statement to TMZ. In this statement, she summed up why she decided to sue Baldoni. “I hope that my legal action helps pull back the curtain on these retaliatory tactics to harm people who speak up about misconduct and helps protect others who may be targeted,” she said.
