Another major celebrity couple has called it quits: Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. According to People, the singer filed for divorce from the Game of Thrones actress in Miami, Florida, on Sept. 5. “The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken,” a court document reportedly read. The stars, who got married in 2019, share two daughters together. Fans who followed the pair on social media are understandably shocked over their breakup. Considering Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner always posted about each other on Instagram, fans didn’t see their split coming at all.

Jonas and Turner met for the first time in 2016 after connecting on Instagram. It didn’t take long for them to fall in love because just a year later, the pair announced their engagement on Instagram in October 2017. They tied the knot in Las Vegas in May 2019 after attending the Billboard Music Awards earlier that night. Since then, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have welcomed two children together. Their first daughter, Willa, arrived in July 2020. The couple then welcomed their second daughter, whose name hasn’t been shared publicly, in July 2022.
Up until their divorce went public, fans thought Jonas and Turner were going strong. Just a few weeks ago, the X-Men star shared a photo with Jonas on Instagram. “🎵 Long long New York nights 🎵,” she captioned her post on Aug. 14. Turner’s Instagram featured a carousel of images from the Jonas Brothers’ New York concerts on their latest world tour. In one photo, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner held hands while passing by fans. The actress even planted a kiss on Jonas’ hand.
A second photo shows Turner wearing a variety of Jonas Brothers-themed bracelets, including one that featured her husband’s name. Turner also took a photo of Jonas and his brothers, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas, performing on stage.
Although the stars may no longer be together, it appears they’re still on good terms amid their split.
