Josh Duggar’s Thanksgiving in prison was anything but palatable, according to sources. The disgraced reality star has been locked up at FCI Seagoville in Dallas, Texas, since December 2021 on child pornography charges. He is currently serving a 151-month sentence set to end in October 2032. Unfortunately, the conditions keep deteriorating with each passing month.
According to prison sources, feeding in the federal prison is in a deplorable state, negatively affecting the welfare of the inmates. Duggar and his fellow prisoners are reportedly being served substandard meals. “They’ve been getting half portions of food for months,” the insider told The US Sun. “Grits, tiny portions of corn, half rolls, a couple ounces of deli meat. They’re serving them these crazy portions.” The situation is so shabby that inmates have been forced to take control of their feeding to avoid “going hungry.”
“People are having to buy food from the commissary or go hungry. It’s wild. Complaints from loved ones have gone nowhere.”
Previous sources told the publication that FCI Seagoville is often home to expired food items. “The food they get is regularly expired. They’re just like really disgustingly expired, always by at least a couple of weeks,” the informant explained. “And it’s like milk. All sorts of like stuff that can’t be expired for that long.” The prison has been accused of inhumane conditions, especially when it comes to its food service. In fact, earlier this year, an inmate sued the prison, alleging that some of the meals served contained maggots. However, the prison management has since denied the reports, telling The Sun, “Currently, FCI Seagoville has not received any complaints regarding any aspect of the institution’s Food Service Department.”
Josh Duggar Enjoyed ‘Special Privileges’ In Prison Due To Famous Last Name
The damning report about the prison’s feeding condition is a far cry from what previous sources said about Duggar’s sentence. In September, we reported that the 19 and Counting star enjoyed a privileged life behind bars. It was revealed that he moved to a newly renovated dorm with upgraded amenities.
“They finished painting the walls and getting flowers put into Dorm 6, where Josh lives. It’s been turned into an honors dorm,” the source explained. “They get special privileges and building updates because it’s an honors dorm.” Duggar allegedly enjoys amenities like “washers, dryers, and microwave,” unlike other inmates. However, his admittance into the honors dorm raised eyebrows as occupants needed to meet certain strict conditions. Despite the rule that an inmate of the honors dorm can’t have any disciplinary actions, the disgraced 36-year-old was exempted. In February 2023, he was sent to solitary confinement after sneaking a phone into prison, but that didn’t count for some reason.
