Katy Perry was all smiles in her metallic minidress as she rode around on a motorcycle while shooting a promotional video last month, but the June 30 photos only sparked pity for the 39-year-old.
Flaunting her recent weight loss amid sand dunes as she upped the ante on a two-wheeler, Katy straddled the motorcycle in a skimpy silver minidress, going edgy in shades while appearing to enjoy herself. The joyful vibe, however, was not reflected by users reacting to the photos, shared by The Daily Mail. Fans, already angered by Katy partnering up with controversial producer Dr. Luke for her comeback “Woman’s World” single, turned on her big-time, with many appearing to pity her. One fan even gained likes for calling the brunette “desperate.”
Katy Perry Sparks Pity With Minidress Display
Opting for a futuristic look, Katy highlighted her slimmed-down figure in a leggy, sleeveless, metallic minidress in statement silver.
Going structured as she injected robo-cop accents, the pop star flaunted her toned legs and arms while in shades, with photos showing her outstretched arms as she sat behind a male model on the motorcycle.
Letting the wind blow through her dark, long hair, Katy flashed a smile, adding a pair of perspex heels for an even edgier finish. Chances are, the racy outfit was partly contributing to the negative feedback, which appears to have spiraled into full-blown hatred for Katy as fans deem “Woman’s World” trashy and the opposite of empowering.
Told Her ‘Time Has Passed’
Noting that Katy has spoken of 3-year-old daughter Daisy as the inspiration behind her upcoming 143 album, one fan wrote: “Her new single is inspired by her daughter? And in the video she decided to hvmp [sic] a stranger and get her kit off?” The comment was the most liked one.
Meanwhile, over 90 fans liked a reply reading: “Just give up now Katy, your time has passed!!”
“She’s desperate to cling on to relevancy,” a third said, with another agreeing as they wrote: “Go away Katy. Your desperation is showing and it is annoying.”
Following “Woman’s World” proving a flop, Katy was reported to be in crisis talks with her management. Things only got worse for the singer, though. She’s currently being investigated by local authorities after filming her “Lifetime” music video on a wilderness-protected beach. Perry’s team is reported to have not asked for permission to use the nature reserve space.
Katy’s 143 album is due for release on September 20.
