Kevin Costner has teased a return to Yellowstone many times now. However, it seems like that has finally come to an end, as the actor may have just confirmed what is really happening. In a recent video on Instagram Costner announced that he will not be returning to the hit drama series. This comes after a few years of Costner making a mess of the production and story. Although some fans are still upset that he will not be making a return.
Per CNN, Kevin Costner has been working on his Horizon film. It has been a passion project for him, but critics have given it horrible reviews. As for Yellowstone, the actor claims that he loved working on that series, as well as the fans.
Kevin Costner Sends a Message to Yellowstone Fans
“I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that are required, and thinking about ‘Yellowstone,’ that beloved series that I love, that I know you love,” Costner said. “I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.”
Most fans are still in support of Costner, and they are showing that in his comments section. “Well, that’s a bummer you won’t be back in Yellowstone. I still don’t understand why,” one fan said. “Sheridan sucks. Can’t wait for Horizon,” wrote another. “Oh, that’s a sad thing to hear. Always wish you the best, Kevin,” another stated.
Yellowstone is set to end with the second part of season five. However, there are rumors of a sequel spin-off series in the works that would focus on some of the characters from the original show.
