King Charles is eager to welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle into the royal family amid the battle for UK security but with ulterior motives. The rift between the British monarch and the Sussexes has played out in the public eye for years, especially with Harry’s bid to reclaim his UK police security. While the palace has claimed the monarch has no authority over what happens with security concerns handled by Ravec, that could reportedly change if the Sussexes agree to the terms offered by the royal family, a source has claimed.
According to the source who spoke to In Touch Weekly, the health woes plaguing King Charles and Kate Middleton have left the remaining working royals overwhelmed, and in need of more hands. To alleviate the workload of the struggling royals, King Charles and his oldest son Prince William are willing to forgive Prince Harry’s wrongdoings and welcome him back.
Explaining why King Charles and Prince William may suddenly desire reconciliation with Prince Harry after seemingly shunning the idea in the past, the source revealed the monarchy considered the Sussexes the ideal fit to represent the royal family in unusual locations and functions other family members may turn down for safety concerns. Notably, Harry and Meghan’s recent successful visits to Nigeria and Colombia opened that window. The source divulged,
“Charles and William may be open to reconciliation, if for no other reason than to have two more people for official duties, especially in places no one else wants to go.”
Regardless of how desperate the royals may be, a reconciliation would only happen if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex apologize for their past actions. The source shared,
“Harry and Meghan are definitely going to have to apologize. This rift won’t heal overnight. And at this point, they need the royals more than the royals need them.”
The source further revealed that owning up to their mistakes and becoming working royals once again was the simplest way Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could get the UK police security they wanted. The couple lost their right to taxpayer-funded police protection in the UK after stepping down as working royals. Thereafter, the 39-year-old waged a legal war against the UK government to have his security reinstated but lost the case despite offering to fund the security himself. This has further driven a wedge between Prince Harry and his dad King Charles, who he supposedly believes has the power to intervene in the security issue if he so desired.
