She offered the Top Gun: Maverick actor the sentimental gift by “proposing” with the boat’s key. Although many fans saw the gesture as sweet, others cringed after seeing a video of the moment. Why? Well, it seems some felt uncomfortable after witnessing a woman “get down on one knee” for a man.

In Keleigh Teller’s latest Instagram, she and her husband could be seen standing near a boat dock when she suddenly gets down on one knee in front of him. “Will you accept the key to my heart?” she asks the Spiderhead star while opening a jewelry box.
Miles Teller is caught off guard and asks his wife, “What are you talking about? What is going on?” At that moment, someone driving a speedboat appears in the distance. The couple’s friends begin to cheer in response. However, the actor still doesn’t realize what’s happening. After asking his wife for clarification, Keleigh tells Miles that she bought him a boat. “Do you say yes?” one of their friends asks him behind the camera.
Once he finally understood his wife had just proposed with a boat, Miles hugged and kissed Keleigh. Miles checks out the boat after parking near the dock in another video. He appeared overjoyed by the gift and had a huge smile.
Follow-up photos show Miles and Keleigh Teller taking the boat for a ride with their friends. After spending the whole day on the water, the couple appeared to celebrate the rest of their anniversary by grabbing dinner with their loved ones.

However, not everyone saw the gesture as something to celebrate. One person criticized the moment by telling “ladies” they should “stop getting down on one knee” for men. Meanwhile, some fans expressed confusion after mistakingly believing Keleigh had just proposed marriage to Miles.
Thankfully, Miles and Keleigh Teller seem not to be paying attention to the criticism.
