Miley Cyrus is back in the news after revealing she’s not one for hanging out in massive celebrity squads. Making headlines for a recent reveal on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, the 31-year-old pop star name-dropped the one artist she actually does hang out with. When The Daily Mail covered the reveal, it noted the named A-lister as the “only” star Miley socializes with.
While the likes of Kylie Jenner and Taylor Swift keep a tight celeb squad, Miley is more of a lone ranger. She did, however, reveal that the one celebrity she’s tight with is one she recently collaborated with.
Miley Cyrus Reveals Her One Celeb Friend
Confirming that she’s “not very active or a very active part of [her] community of other artists and entertainers and celebrities,” Miley said: “It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room.” There are, however, “certain artists.”
Miley, who dominated the 2023 music charts with her smash-hit “Flowers,” then mentioned R&B singer Beyoncé, with whom she collaborated earlier this year. Cyrus features in the “II MOST WANTED” track off Beyoncé’s Act II: Cowboy Carter album.
“There are certain artists like Beyoncé – who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time,” Miley continued. Recalling a moment when she was “sandwiched” between the former Destiny’s Child singer and fellow music superstar Rihanna, the ex to Liam Hemsworth actually appeared humbled. “And they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, probably similar to my age now. Towering over me, completely stunning,” she shared.
Married a Hollywood Face
Miley’s fans still maintain that “Flowers” is about Aussie ex-husband Liam Hemsworth. The former couple dated on and off before ending their 2018-commenced marriage in 2019. The blonde may have no room for celebrities in her social circle, but she’s definitely dated a fair few, not limited to Liam, Cody Simpson, and Kaitlyn Carter.
On March 29, as Beyoncé released her country album, Miley took to Instagram. Sharing the EP’s cover, she wrote: “I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her.”
The 2024 Grammy winner added: “My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created along side of her. Thank you Beyoncé. You’re everything & more. Love you. To everyone who spent time making this song so special thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely, Miley.”
