Diddy isn’t off the hook yet. Federal authorities are still looking to criminally indict him amid the slew of sexual assault and trafficking allegations levied against him. In a new update, authorities believe the rapper’s hotel visits might be the key to unlocking crucial evidence.
Federal prosecutors from the Southern District of New York got a subpoena to investigate a hotel in Florida. Per TMZ, the fancy Miami hotel will hand over documents and other evidence related to the rapper. The subpoena will check reservation records from January 1, 2008, to the present. Authorities will look at check-in and check-out dates, room numbers, guest preferences and requests, billing information, and other details. They also asked for email and mailing addresses, phone numbers, and forms of payment, such as cash and credit cards. Prosecutors further requested computer IP addresses and logins for the individuals, as well as copies of their identifications and vehicle information. Finally, the feds asked about surveillance footage at the hotel.
Diddy and his ex-girlfriend, Daphne Joy, are named in the subpoena. Recall that the actress was named as a sex worker in a sexual assault and trafficking lawsuit involving Diddy.
Hotel Surveillance Footage Showed Diddy Assaulting Cassie
It comes as no surprise that authorities are scrutinizing Diddy’s hotel, although they gave no further details about the subpoena. In May, surveillance footage from 2016 showed the rapper beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie. The abominable incident took place at the now-closed InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The Bad Boys Records founder, dressed in just a towel, brutally assaulted his then-girlfriend in the corridor. He battered her, kicking and dragging her by her hair.
The music mogul admitted to committing the heinous crime in a now-deleted apology video. “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, and I’m disgusted now,” Diddy somberly said.
