According to Rebelonging’s Instagram post, the incident unfolded shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22, at the luxury resale boutique on West Broadway in SoHo, Manhattan. The store said a group of suspects attempted to force their way inside before fleeing in a white Acura. It has since appealed to the public for help identifying those involved, saying it hopes sharing the footage will help prevent similar incidents from happening to other local businesses.
In the video, which has since spread to social media platforms including Reddit, the security guard can be seen holding the door open for a woman as she enters the boutique. Seconds later, two masked individuals rush toward the entrance and appear to try to force their way inside. The guard immediately springs into action, repeatedly pushing the would-be intruders away and preventing them from gaining entry. As the attempted robbery is thwarted, the woman who had just entered the store is seen quickly running back outside and leaving the scene.
