Every Pokémon has certain types they do great against and types that can wreck them. In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, learning all the weaknesses of your Fighting type is essential. This way, you know how to use them right and how to defend against opponents.
Fighting Type Weaknesses in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl
There are 18 types of Pokémon with some creatures being dual-type and others a pure-type. With such variety, some types can perform worse or better against others.
When it comes to Fighting types in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, they thankfully only have three weaknesses: Fairy, Flying, and Psychic.
So, if you have a Fighting type, facing off against these Pokémon variants can cause some issues.
- Granbull (Fairy-type)
- Staraptor (Normal/Flying-type)
- Alakazam (Psychic-type)
Also, watch out for the dual-types that meet both weaknesses for Fighting types. For example, Mr. Mime is both a Psychic and Fairy Pokémon. If facing off against one, you may want to switch out your Fighting type. Alternatively, you can pull out Mr. Mime if you run into a Fighting type to make the battle easier for you.
Knowing what to avoid when using a Fighting type (or what to use when confronted by one) based on weaknesses is half the battle. It also helps to understand their strengths too. This way, you will always know how to balance out your party no matter which side of the fence you’re on.
Fighting type Pokémon can deal 2x damage to the following types: Dark, Ice, Normal, Rock, and Steel. So, if you have your fighting type, you can do well against opponents like Absol and Empoleon.
With three weaknesses, it’s simple enough to balance with or against Fighting type Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Just keep them in mind, and you can get through any battle with the right adjustments.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is available on Nintendo Switch.
