As Finneon is a water type, the only way to catch it in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is by fishing. There are specific areas to look at though, and we’ll help you figure out where to find the Finneon. This way, you can keep expanding your awesome Pokémon collection.
Finding Finneon in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl
Although the National Dex is useful in finding hundreds of Pokémon, it’s not needed in this case. Finneon is right in the Sinnoh Dex. Also, it isn’t exclusive. So, you can find Finneon in both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Before you start your journey, make sure you have a Good Rod. An Old Rod will not let you catch this Pokémon.
*We should note that with a Super Rod, you increase your chances of catching Lumineon. But if you want to play around with Finneon first and then evolve it into Lumineon, then keep on reading.*
With your Good Rod, which you can get from an NPC around Hearthome City near Route 209, it’s time to go fishing. Finneon is only found in nine locations:
- Route 205
- Route 218
- Route 219
- Route 220
- Route 221
- Canalave City
- Fuego Ironworks
- Iron Island
- Valley Windworks
Finneon may be a common Pokémon, but it is a handy one to have. It’s easy to evolve too since it reaches its evolution cap by level 31. So, you can get to work on leveling it up quickly.
With our guide, you shouldn’t have to wonder about where to find Finneon anymore in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl. Once you catch one, don’t forget to rename it. It’s yours after all, and it deserves a special name.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl is available now on Nintendo Switch.
