As always, Niantic is bringing another fan-favorite event to its game. The Lunar New Year event of 2023 for Pokemon Go has been announced. The Year of the Rabbit is almost upon us and many games are celebrating it. Pokemon Go isn’t a stranger when it comes to putting many holidays in the game. We’ve had some great holiday events like Halloween and Christmas. Now’s the turn for the Chinese New Year to appear on the AR title as well. The event will start next week, and it is bringing many bonuses and a lot of pocket monsters for players to catch.
The Lunar New Year Event of 2023 begins on January 19 in Pokemon Go
From January 19 to January 23, trainers from all over the world will be able to enjoy the event. The Lunar New Year of 2023 in Pokemon Go brings some themed creatures and many bonuses for those who play during those days. This is what’s coming with the event:
- Themed Wild Encounters including previous Lunar Year Pokemon
- Bonus to encounter Shiny Darumaka
- Increased chance for Lucky Pokémon
- A new Timed Research
- Chingling, Scraggy, Darumaka, and Riolu will appear in 7km eggs
- Themed Raids
- And more

While it’ll last for only a few days, the Lunar New Year event of 2023 in Pokemon Go will be packed. It is one of the events that people enjoy the most, and it looks like 2023 won’t be an exception.
