Prince Harry and Meghan Markle squash rumors of their fallout with famous friends with a star-studded birthday party celebrating Tyler Perry. Rumors of the Sussexes’ fallout with the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, and Tyler Perry have surfaced over the years. Reports claim these A-listers avoid the Sussexes like a plague owing to their penchant for spilling secrets in their tell-all memoirs and documentaries. Meghan rose above these rumors earlier this month when she joined Oprah at Godmothers to lend her support to fellow authors in Summerland, California.
While their appearance at the event proved their sustaining friendship, their latest attendance at another highly publicized event further solidified this. Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry stepped out on Saturday, September 14, to attend Tyler Perry’s birthday party. A-listers like Oprah Winfrey, Gayle King, Alicia Keys, and actor Aaron O’Connell also made appearances at the star-studded bash.
Paramount CEO Biran Robbins and his wife Tracy joined the hoard of celebrities who turned up to celebrate with Tyler Perry on his 55th birthday. Photos of these famous figures en route to the event have since graced the internet, each celeb appearing in high spirits. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who arrived at the birthday party at about 7 pm had a blast partying with their famous friends, evidenced in snaps of the couple leaving the bas in high spirits.
Meghan Markle Spotted in High Spirits After Partying With Friends
In one photo, Meghan sat beside her husband, giggling heartily in the backseat of a vehicle. Speaking to DailyMail, one source working near the $31 million Montecito mansion at the time confirmed the attendees indeed had a swell time. According to him, the party featured lots of singing, dancing, and music, with enough meals to go around. He told the outlet,
“Lots of speeches and food too. Everyone was having a lot of fun. It was a good party. There were a lot of famous people but I cannot say anymore.”
The electric company employee also noted that someone “who sounded like Harry” gave a speech at Tyler Perry’s birthday party. This comes months after Princess Diana’s former butter Paul Burrell claimed several Hollywood stars are distancing themselves from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. According to him, they’d rather associate with the more “popular” and less scandalous Prince William and Kate Middleton. He divulged,
“The true A-listers, who move in those circles, realize that Harry and Meghan’s brand isn’t as popular or as valuable, to be associated with as the real royal brand, and I can see people dropping like flies around them.”
Despite this supposed icing out from A-list groups, Tyler’s birthday bash proves the Sussexes still have more than a handful of stars in their corner. The Saturday evening event preceded Harry’s 40th birthday, marked a day later. Given their close friendship with Tyler, the duo had no issue putting their birthday preparations on hold for some hours to attend the bash.
Tyler’s friendship with the Sussexes dates back to years before they ever met in person. He famously supported the duo with his Beverly Hills mansion following their UK exit in 2020 to start a new life in California. Explaining the genesis of their friendship, Meghan Markle once revealed Tyler sent her a note in 2018, saying he understood the pressure she faced in her new life as a royal. The filmmaker eventually became her friend, confident, and one of her biggest support when she eventually moved to California.
