Kate Middleton will soon return to her royal duties, but Prince William‘s shoulders are still heavy with worries. The heir apparent to the British throne opened up about feeling “less relaxed” despite his wife’s positive health update. While addressing reporters over the weekend, William detailed his family’s “brutal” and “dreadful” year following two health scares. His father, King Charles III, and Kate were diagnosed with cancer, making 2024 “the hardest year” of his life.
William noted it has been challenging navigating other responsibilities while keeping everything on track. Nonetheless, he remained proud of his father and wife for how they handled things. When a reporter noted he looked relaxed, the Prince of Wales looked shocked by the comment. “I couldn’t be less relaxed this year, so it’s very interesting you’re all seeing that,” he claimed, adding:
“But it’s more a case of just crack on, and you’ve got to keep going. I enjoy my work, and I enjoy pacing myself. And keeping sure that I have got time for my family, too.”
On the subject of family, William was asked how Kate was doing after her “cancer-free” declaration. The prince confirmed she was “doing well” and revealed her plans to embrace her royal duties fully. “I think, hopefully, Catherine will be doing a bit more next year. So, we’ll have some more trips, maybe lined up,” William shared.
He noted that “family-wise,” the public would need to wait to see them together because of the children. William explained that the couple’s three children were still at school, and he prioritized their education over everything else. On that note, family appearances won’t happen soon, per the New York Post.
Kate Middleton ‘Doesn’t Want to Get ill Again’
Earlier this month, we covered that Kate’s wellbeing had significantly improved to return to the gym. The royal biographer Robert Jobson shared the wellness update in an interview, claiming, “From what I understand, Catherine is doing very well. She is back in training at the gym and doing all the things she wanted to do.”
Jobson claimed fans would see more of Kate as she prepared to return to her royal duties in 2025. Although the Princess of Wales was excited for her comeback, she allegedly took a “less is more” approach. According to the royal biographer, Kate “doesn’t want to get ill again” and took things slowly. She focused on events that were important to her but prioritized her family above all else.
As for her 2025 plans, Jobson expected Kate and William to go on at least one tour. He suspected the royal couple would take a trip to Canada or Italy, places that wouldn’t put too much stress on the princess. Kate gradually returned to the spotlight following her cancer diagnosis and treatment. In June, she attended the Trooping the Color event and Wimbledon nearly a month later. Since announcing the completion of her chemotherapy, the princess’ public appearances became more frequent.
Will Prince William feel more relaxed once Kate Middleton officially returns to her senior royal duties in 2025?
