Following her accident on the set of Bride Hard last week, Rebel Wilson has given a health update to her fans. The stunt gone wrong for the wedding action-comedy left the Pitch Perfect star with a bloody nose, three stitches, and a stay in the hospital while shooting the film in Savannah, Georgia. Even during her update, you can still see the healing wound on her nose. The film in question will follow a wedding-turned-hostage situation as mercenaries take the bride hostage. Little do they know; the maid of honor is a secret agent who is not letting anyone ruin her best friend’s wedding.
Rebel Wilson Posts Health Update on Instagram Following Bride Hard Set Accident
Rebel Wilson gave her 11 million Instagram followers a health update on her story. She also thanked her fans for the “well wishes” following her announcement about what happened to her on the set of the independent film. She assured everyone that she had been healing well as the “stitches have dissolved” and that she has been “healing quite amazing.”
In her health update, Rebel Wilson detailed what happened to her. As nothing new for action movie sets as a fake hit became a real one, hurting the actor. The butt of a gun smacked her nose, causing a serious enough injury to stop the shoot. This fight was her “last scene of the movie” and was shot late at night. When she was hit, she called it “a shock” but said she was “healing very well.”
“In the middle of a night shoot, my last scene of the movie, so I’d done all these kickass fight sequences and then just in the last one I got hit in the face with the butt of a gun. So it was a complete accident and was such a shock. But luckily I’m healing very well, so I wanted to say thank you for everybody’s well wishes.”
The SAG and WGA strikes have shut down most film productions. SAG gave some independent films waivers to continue shooting, including Bride Hard. Without a studio attached, it was allowed to continue without crossing the picket line. Actors and writers unionized under SAG-AFTRA and WGA have been fighting against studios for better pay, more writers to match the number of episodes for TV, and to resist the use of AI that would replace the jobs of extras, writers, and more.
