RHONJ officially returned to television last night, ending the longest Housewives drought on Bravo in years. The only cast member who manages to maintain friendships with every other cast member despite constantly shifting alliances, Dolores Catania, appeared on Watch What Happens Live after the premiere. Catania, a longtime friend of both Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga, said the sisters-in-lawโs commitment to not speaking has brought โpeaceโ to the New Jersey โwives.ย
โThere is closure, there is a lot of peace that came along with this,โ Dolores Catania said on Watch What Happens Live, adding that the cast is no longer waiting for the next fight between Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga. โNow itโs like, they do see each other, they just donโt speak. They openly acknowledge they canโt stand the other, and thatโs it,โ host Andy Cohen added. In another segment, Catania said she believes fellow RHONJ cast member Margaret Josephs, who is also not currently speaking with Giudice, would rekindle a relationship with the Jersey OG before Gorga.
More Drama From the RHONJ Premiere
While most of the premiere episode was focused on bringing audience members up to speed on the cast membersโ lives since cameras were last up, as most premiere episodes are, the beginning of the episode foreshadowed some classic RHONJ drama to come, with some of it airing in the last five minutes. While celebrating Friend-Of Jennifer Fesslerโs birthday party, Teresa Giudice and Rachel Fuda got into it over their husbands. Per Rachel, Giudiceโs husband, Louie Ruelas, is no gentleman. Per Giudice, Rachelโs husband, John Fuda, is a former drug dealer.ย
The rest of the season hints at Jennifer Aydin building a friendship with Melissa Gorga, Jackie Goldschneider becoming friends with Teresa Giudice, Danielle Cabral buddying up to Rachel Fuda, and Dolores Catania remaining call through it all. RHONJ is definitely back.
