Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows have been added to the April 1st lineup for Netflix. Robert Downey Jr. has a long and impressive filmography. The world knows him as Tony Stark, who saw his heroic yet tragic end in Avengers: Endgame. Fans of Robert Downey Jr. also know him as the classic detective opposite Jude Law. Disney+ may have Tony Stark under lock and key, but Netflix has Sherlock Holmes one and two for its April lineup of new content. The 2009 film made $524 million, and the second film made $544 million. Jude Law played Watson to Downey Jr.’s Holmes for both films. Guy Ritchie directed both films, and Hans Zimmer made the scores. The Sherlock Holmes movies are not the only movies being added for April 1st. Others include Blade, Blade II, Eagle Eye, and many more.
There will be a third Sherlock Holmes film, but it has been stalled due to the pandemic. Downey Jr. as Tony Stark may have earned a buttload of money to Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that’s sadly over. All new viewers will be able to see Robert Downey Jr. as the rowdy and crass detective in Sherlock Holmes for the April 1st lineup for Netflix. There are snappy lines and brawls and lots of murders. The films have a strong fan following and it shows in the box office as well. There have been many renditions of Sherlock Holmes, but Robert Downey Jr. is one of the most recognizable portrayals. Those who already enjoy the movies will be able to see Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on April 1st with a Netflix subscription.
Marathoning the movies will be fans’ only option so they can prepare themselves for the future release of the third film.
