Halsey is grateful to be alive. The singer had a near-fatal run-in with a truck during a day out in New York on Wednesday. The Bad At Love artist was filming a music video for her upcoming fifth studio album when the scary incident happened.
Halsey was seen crossing the street with her entourage when a tow truck nearly crushed her. The 29-year-old was dressed in a color Dolce & Gabbana mini-dress with black platform slippers. Her colorful pink hair was undeniable to miss as she tried to cross the road with her team. However, halfway through the crossroads, cars began beeping, startling Halsey and causing her to freeze right in the middle. A blue truck was seen speeding towards the songstress, but not before a man believed to be a bodyguard scooped her out of the way. She ran back to the sidewalk in fear.
Luckily, Halsey didn’t seem too shaken by the incident. She was later seen hanging out by an ice cream truck. It is unsure what song she was filming a music video for, but she shot some scenes at the subway station. Fans online have expressed relief that the singer wasn’t hurt. “I’m glad someone was paying attention to the traffic or could have been injuries!!” one fan declared. Others, however, mocked Halsey’s response to the situation. “Her fight or flight did not kick in,” remarked another.
Halsey is yet to publicly comment on the traffic run-in. However, she has been majorly vocal about her upcoming album, whose title she is yet to reveal. The New Jersey native announced her fifth studio album on June 3 with the release of a new single titled The End. To further promote the highly-anticipated project, Halsey launched a cryptic new website titled “ForMyLastTrick.com.”
On it, she addressed a letter to her fanbase that read, “As you may have guessed, I have written a new album. But I needed some time to figure out how to say what I needed to say. You see, I’ve been holding [REDACTED] and I need to let it out. There’s so much I am going to reveal on this record, but you need to know some of the story first.“
