In a highly-anticipated turn of events, Sony and Vanna White have signed a partial Wheel of Fortune deal. Recall that a few weeks ago, reports revealed the television personality was seeking a pay raise, particularly half of what her co-host Pat Sajak earned. Although the media company kicked against it initially, a part of the Vanna White Wheel of Fortune deal has finally pulled through. According to a recent update, the co-host will get a salary increment. However, the increase will only be for the celebrity version of the show.
Sony and Vanna White Conclude a Partial Deal
For the past few weeks, Sony and Vanna White have been negotiating a salary increase for the latter following news that the co-host would be leaving the show in 2024. The game show hostess has finally concluded a part of the deal. On Thursday, TMZ exclusively reported that White’s lawyer, Bryan Friedman, negotiated a deal for his client for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. According to the report, the lawyer demanded fifty percent of what Sajak was making. Although Sony chose to keep the exact details of Sajak’s salary under wraps, insiders noted that the icon earned up to $400,000 per episode.
Furthermore, the outlet reported that after much negotiations, White finally settled for $100,000 per episode. Although the amount didn’t get to fifty percent of Sajak’s salary, it was a meaningful increase compared to her last contract. Meanwhile, the Vanna White Wheel of Fortune deal is yet to be concluded. For now, negotiations are on hold due to the Writers Guild of America Strike. Nevertheless, it doesn’t seem like White will get what she wants. According to reports, Sony and Vanna White are far apart, and the media company is not receptive to the television personality’s demands.
Recent Details About Vanna White’s Wheel of Fortune Deal
Friedman is reportedly doing all he can to ensure the Vanna White Wheel of Fortune deal pulls through. According to insiders, the lawyer even asked Sony to get a third party familiar with the game show world to analyze White and Sajak’s roles and their importance on the show. After the evaluation, the third party would come up with a reasonable figure. But unfortunately, Sony turned down the request.
According to sources, Sony’s decision was because they believed they paid Sajak too much and didn’t want to use his salary to compare. In the meantime, White’s team has said they are unhappy with Sony’s decision to turn down the request. In fact, they believe things will get ugly between Sony and Vanna White if the latter doesn’t get serious.
