The Game of Thrones alum and her pop-star ex were divorced in September 2023, citing an “irretrievably broken” relationship between the two of them. Despite their initial attempts to keep their separation positive, things quickly grew messy between Turner and Jonas, specifically regarding the custody of the couple’s two children, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1. Initially, Sophie Turner sued her ex-husband for abducting their kids, but she’s since changed her mind – and moved on to new pursuits.

The divorce between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas first made headlines in September 2023, and like many divorces with kids, it got messy almost immediately. The beginning of the month saw Jonas filing for divorce and a joint statement from the couple stating that they had “mutually decided” to “amicably” end their relationship. Just a few weeks later, Sophie Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas, accusing him of “wrongfully retaining” their two daughters.
According to the court documents released to the press, Jonas had refused to hand over their daughters‘ passports so they could fly to the UK, where Turner was born and raised. A letter published in late 2022 reveals that at one point, the couple had had plans to move to England and raise their daughters there, and while Turner now wanted to move to England with their daughters, she claimed that her ex-husband was “abducting” their kids by denying her the right to take them with her.
Joe Jonas, of course, denied the accusations that he had abducted his own daughters, and a statement reported at Page Six from his rep stated that the entire thing had been up to a misunderstanding.
“This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.”

Now, months after the lawsuit was filed, Sophie Turner has filed for the lawsuit to be dismissed. Her lawyers reportedly asked for the case to be dropped on Wednesday; the reasoning behind her sudden 180 isn’t clear, though ideally she and Jonas have reached some kind of agreement about their daughters. Whatever happened, Turner doesn’t seem too upset about it, as she was seen beaming with her new boyfriend.

Turner and Pearson reportedly began their relationship in October 2023, not long after Turner’s divorce was filed. The couple was all smiles mere hours after the lawsuit was dismissed; whether or not this means Sophie Turner has decided to bury the hatchet with her ex and turn over a new leaf remains to be seem.
