Stray, the highly-anticipated, feline-centered game from the teams at BlueTwelve Studio and Annapurna Interactive, has finally been released across several major platforms. After such a long wait, players can jump into this cyberpunk dystopian world and find their way home, one paw at a time. With the game available across both PC and PlayStation platforms though, some have been wondering if the game will come to the Xbox or Game Pass platforms. No need to worry though, as we’re here to help. In this guide, we’ll explain whether Stray is coming to Xbox or Game Pass in the future!
Is Stray Coming to Xbox (Game Pass)?
While the current answer we can give is probably, it’s worth noting that nothing concrete has come from either the developers or Annapurna. With that in mind, it’s quite possible Stray could never come to Xbox or Game Pass. With that being said, the chances of it not coming to the platform are highly unlikely. For one, many of Annapurna’s signature games have been released on both Xbox and Game Pass, so it’d make sense for the publisher to continue that partnership and have the game ported over. There’s also the pure value in bringing it to the platform, as having an Xbox version means the game gets talked about more and more sales are driven to the game.
If anything, the likely reason Stray is not yet on Xbox or Game Pass is due to a console exclusivity deal. In case you’re new around these parts, that bit of jargon essentially means either Annapurna or BlueTwelve have made a deal with Sony to have the game’s console release be exclusively PlayStation. That generally means a year but could mean longer depending on any number of factors. The point is that despite Xbox and Game Pass folks not knowing if Stray is coming to the platform, the chances of it never happening are highly unlikely.
