Stray Kids is officially teaming up with Marvel Studios. On Wednesday, July 17, the K-pop group announced they’ll be part of the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack. They recorded an original song for the movie called “Slash” as part of the collaboration. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait long to hear it because it’ll drop in just a few days.
Marvel Unveils Deadpool & Wolverine Soundtrack
The Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack will be released on Wednesday, July 24. That’s two days before the movie hits theaters on Friday, July 26. Apart from Stray Kids, the tracklist will feature songs by artists like *NSYNC, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Aretha Franklin.
The news comes just weeks after Stray Kids connected with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman while the actors were in South Korea to promote the film. Considering Stray Kids has had various social media interactions with Reynolds over the years, it was only a matter of time before they met him in person.
The If star shared a photo from their meeting on X. In his caption, Reynolds joked that he “negotiated” to trade Jackman as the “newest and only member” of Stray Kids so that the group could join the MCU.
Stray Kids also shared a selfie with Reynolds and Jackman on their Instagram. They told fans to be excited for “all the awesome things” coming their way. Of course, one of those collaborations turned out to be “Slash” for the Deadpool & Wolverine soundtrack. However, Stray Kids and Reynolds also teamed up for another exciting project: “Chk Chk Boom.”
