A bride in Dallas, Texas, accused a makeup artist of ghosting her on her wedding day, even though she signed a contract, paid a deposit, and even had a bridal trial makeup on the weeks prior. And, apparently, she was not the only one who had her makeup sabotaged at the very last minute.

The bride, who goes by Pax on TikTok, shared her nightmare wedding story online. She has rarely posted in the past, often sharing her life with her now-husband and their pets. The clip attached above, however, became her biggest one to date, garnering 2.5 million views, 238,900 likes, and over 1,000 comments.

In this initial post, the Texas woman explained that her makeup artist, named Chelsea Searle, had ghosted her on her wedding day. In the 19-second clip, Pax detailed that she had paid her a deposit, signed a contract, and even did a bridal trial with Chelsea before the most important day of her life arrived.

“She did it to four other people in Dallas, Texas,” Pax said, later saying hi to Chelsea in an effort to get her attention.

Ghosting Weddings

Then, in a follow-up clip, Pax provided much-needed context to what had occurred to her. This whole ordeal started back in February when she booked Chelsea for her wedding day makeup. At the time, Chelsea was offering a free bridal trial makeup if customers agreed to pay her a deposit and sign a contract with their wedding date. Pax believed that was a sweet deal, so she agreed to it.

Both women had a blast during the bridal trial, and Chelsea even posted photos of how Pax looked after makeup. The bride even shared messages in which she told the makeup artist how much she loved her work.

However, things changed in June.

“I didn’t hear anything,” Pax said. “I messaged her a few times, and then the week of my wedding, I also messaged on the hopes that she was still going to show up on my wedding day.”

However, June 27, her wedding date, came, and Chelsea never arrived, Pax said. She was extremely disappointed, of course, but she also wanted her money back. The ghosting continued, the woman claimed, and it was only after making her first TikTok that she was finally refunded for her deposit. According to her, the refund was made through a third party. She never heard back from Chelsea again.

And even though she has her money back, Pax told the makeup artist to do the same to the four other brides that had been allegedly ghosted by her, too. No details about their cases were shared by the Texas woman.

Social Media Reactions

The two videos sparked multiple responses online, mostly from users who were angry at the ghosting on such an important occasion. One said, “I don’t know how someone could do that on purpose to multiple people! I’m so sorry that happened to you.” Another one commented, “Contracts are legally binding. Take her to court.”

Other users reported that Chelsea went live on TikTok to explain what had ocurred with Pax. Many confronted her, including one viewer who wrote, “I told her to flip the script… What if someone did this to her on her wedding day?” She was muted as a result.

Finally, users started to comment on Chelsea’s backup account, as her main, business one appears to be not available. These were later deleted, and there is no word on refunding the other four brides.
