In the grimdark future of the 41st millennium, there are no FOV sliders, and the UI is also intent on killing you like those handsy Tyranids. But do not fret brothers and sisters, for the Emperor provides (for PC users, at least)! And right now, it’s willing to provide you with some nigh-crucial mods to improve Space Marine 2. Before dropping into an Operation or in the Eternal War, try out the following Space Marine 2 mods.
FOV changer mod
There it is, our savior! Currently, the devs seem to have no visible plan yet regarding an FOV slider (only ultrawide support is confirmed), but the modders are here to the rescue. There is now a simple FOV changer mod that allows you to see more of your Space Marine’s surroundings– highly useful during combat and for parrying. Hopefully, you won’t need this in the near future.
Disable Screen FX mods
These are four mods from modder ChemBoy1 and they are a godsend when it comes to tailoring the UI to your preferences.
- Disable Low Health Screen FX will remove the pulsating red screen if you find it annoying.
- Disable Last Life Screen FX will remove the greyed-out screen once you’re down on your last revive. You might need to take note of your deaths and be more careful.
- Disable Blood Splatter Screen FX removes the visual impairment during close combat where annoying blood textures can block your screen.
- Disable Fury Screen FX removes Fury’s yellow screen, which can sometimes be unnecessary since your character will glow yellow anyway.
It’s up to you which ones to use.
Disable Vignette mod
You have to wonder why games keep adding these photography and film effects– especially if there’s no option to disable them. This mod gives you a choice. Disable Vignette is almost mandatory given how claustrophobic the game can feel at times.
No Letterbox or Chromatic Aberrations or Lens Distortion in Cutscenes mod
Do you want cutscenes to be less of a headache? Then remove the Chromatic Aberration (which nobody likes anyway). Additionally, the mod will axe out the filmic letterbox effect because this is not a Kojima game and that’s not needed.
Blood / More Corpse mods
Last but not least, more carnage on the battlefield! This mod pairing, Blood and More Corpse are two separate downloads but are authored by the same modder. They’re self-explanatory. More blood on your character, more corpses on the ground. If you have a weak PC, however, I wouldn’t recommend this.
