Many might think Palworld is akin to Pokemon, but it relies more on survival mechanics, meaning players need to know what to craft first. If you’re a veteran of the genre, you know that not managing resources at first can cost you greatly. Besides, if you want to explore the world, you need to craft a few things first, lest you want to die at the hands of a fluffy sheep. With such an elaborate tech tree, crafting in Palworld might seem daunting, but we have a few recommendations on what to get when you begin your adventure.
5 Essential Items for Any Palworld Adventure
Before you even think about challenging any of the first towers in Palworld, there are a few items you should craft to get you there. With how much this title emphasizes base management, automation, and crafting, spending your Tech Points wisely is crucial. Here are five items we recommend getting as soon as you unlock them in Palworld.
1. Repair Bench
Many survival games have an item durability mechanic that, when a certain tool or weapon breaks, it is discarded. Thankfully, Palworld is more modern and adds a Repair Bench, which is something you should craft first. To get it, you only need Stone x10 and Wood x10, and once you put it down, you can repair your items by using a few things. Initially, this won’t seem like much, but wait until you start fighting some of the furry menaces in the game, and you’ll be thankful for having this station at home.
2. Feed Box
Yes, you can shoot Pals in the face and even butcher them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have normal needs. There’s a hunger mechanic in the game that affects both you and your Pals. While you can feed them from your inventory, you won’t be able to do that when exploring. The easiest way to keep your Pals well-fed is by creating a Feed Box. It only needs Wood x20, and once you set it down, all you have to do is place food inside. However, there’s a way to automate this object, which leads us to our next recommendation.

The Berry Plantation is an item that needs Berry Seeds x3, Wood x20, and Stone x20, and while expensive, it is one of the first things you should craft in Palworld. By having it at your base, you can assign Pals with the Farming and Watering skills to produce berries. Yes, it is a good source of food for you, but it is even better for your Pals. If you place a Feed Box close to the Berry Plantation, Pals will fill it up with what they are farming. This makes feeding your base workers easier and less time-consuming.
4. Straw Pal Bed
Speaking of creature comfort, the next thing on your list should be Straw Pal Beds. These structures give your Pals a comfortable place to sleep. Yes, you can keep them around the base and let them sleep on the ground, but that’s not ideal for many reasons. First, come on, have a little heart. Second, because their Sanity falls as they work. When their Sanity drops, they’ll slack off, meaning your base’s production will stop. So, for the sake of capitalism, make some beds for your furry friends. Each one costs Wood x10 and Fiber x5.
5. Statue of Power
It seems anime-themed games nowadays have some sort of statue you must use to level up certain things, and Palworld isn’t an exception. By using Stone x20 and Paldium Fragment x10, you can build a Statue of Power that comes with two functions. For the player, it increases their Capture Power, and for Pals, you can spend Pal Souls to increase their stats. The latter is useful when facing any of the towers or when you want to improve your workforce.
