Tom Cruise is no stranger to performing death-defying stunts in his movies. Now, he’s taking his love for physical stunts and acting to a higher level as he is reportedly set to steal the show at the 2024 Paris Olympics by performing yet another life-threatening action at the Closing Ceremony, where he’ll officially end the games and pass the baton on to Los Angeles, where the 2028 Olympics are set to be held.
According to TMZ, Tom Cruise will be seen repelling down from the top of Stade de France. He’ll land on the stadium field while carrying the official Olympic flag. Fans will then reportedly see a previously recorded skit where the actor will fly on an airplane with the flag from France to Los Angeles. He’ll then jump out of the plane down to the Hollywood sign.

The stunt was said to have been filmed back in March, but the story never leaked. Cruise will allegedly be seen passing the flag to Olympic athletes such as a volleyball player and cyclist.
The actor is said to have approached the Olympic Committee about doing the stunts in hopes of ending the 2024 Paris Games with a bang and drawing future excitement for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. However, fans were a bit confused and surprised by the news of Cruise’s Olympic stunts.
“When will he learn,” one person tweeted.
“Wow,” another comment read.
“He’s never scared of taking risk,” a third person quipped.
Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Tom Cruise has participated in the Olympics. In 2004, the Vanilla Sky star carried the torch through LA as part of the flame traveling the globe on its way to the games in Athens, Greece.
Recently, an insider opened up about Cruise’s love for terrifying stunts, and how they concern his loved ones.
“A lot of his peers increasingly rely on stunt doubles, especially when they get to a certain age, and Tom does do it to a limited capacity, but mostly does his own impossible feats,” an insider told In Touch Weekly. “He pretends to be an action man, but the truth of the matter is he’s risking life.“ What he’s doing crosses the line. Tom seems to think he’s invincible.
