Shortly after Tory Lanez was sentenced, his attorney Jose Baez spoke to TMZ about how his client thought about the judge’s decision.
Baez told the outlet Lanez was feeling very low. According to the lawyer, his client was having a hard time processing the sentence. Nevertheless, the rapper remains determined to be strong and deal with his time in jail as best as he can. What’s more, Baez revealed Lanez was leaning on his faith in God. He also leans on his friends and family’s support and the care and love from his fans worldwide. Baez also added that Lanez hoped the judge would show mercy, especially as he had given back a lot and was genuinely loved by his community. Unfortunately, the rapper didn’t get his wish and will be in prison for a long time.
Inside Tory Lanez’s Prison Sentence
Tory Lanez’s prison sentence was decided on Tuesday by Judge David Herriford. According to reports, Tory Lanez would have been sentenced the previous day, but the judge had other plans. He allowed the lawyers from the prosecution and defense to argue each factor of Lanez’s potential sentence. In addition, Herriford gave seven witnesses a chance to give statements on the singer’s charitable contributions, childhood trauma, and fatherhood. In the end, Lanez was found guilty of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and assault. Meanwhile, Baez said his client will appeal the court’s decision.
