This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

Overwatch 2 has already been out for a while, and despite its rough free-to-play transition and launch, the game is still being enjoyed by long-time fans and newcomers alike. Some of you who’ve been investing some time in the game might be wondering if you should upgrade your base, free game to premium with the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack. Shelling out 40 bucks just for a game isn’t exactly cheap (especially for a free-to-play title), so let’s see whether Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack is also worth your money as well or not.

Watchpoint Pack Price Breakdown

Is The Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack Worth It? Answered

It contains quite a lot of content, doesn’t it? But is Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack actually worth it — at least on paper?

First of all, Overwatch 1: Legendary Edition is now out of print, but you can still find some keys or used physical releases for $15 to $25. Before Activision Blizzard decided to retire the game, Overwatch: Legendary Edition base price was already cut from $60 to $40 back in 2018. Then, Season 1 Premium Battle Pass and 2,000 Coins are pretty much worth $30. Taking all of that into consideration, I’d argue Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack is worth at least $50.

So, Is The Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack Really Worth It?

In the end, personally, I think the answer really depends on your familiarity with the game and how much you value the skins.

Obviously, veteran Overwatch players probably would’ve owned the Legendary Edition of the first game in the first place. Then, if you’re only interested in unlocking the Season 1 Battle Pass and acquiring some Coins, I don’t think it’s particularly worth it. On one hand, the 2,000 Coins are only worth one Legendary skin; but on the other hand, you can save it to buy Premium Battle Passes for two Seasons down the line. Then you have to consider whether you will use the Heroes who got the skins often and do the skins tickle your fancy or not.

However, as I stated above, on paper Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack is worth $50 if you start playing from scratch. With that in mind, in general, it’s a fair deal for most new players but not so much for veteran players.
