Ilhan Omar of Minnesota has faced a wave of criticism recently, and it appears she has reached her limit. Nancy Mace, a Republican representative from South Carolina, posted on X attempting to connect Omar to Iran’s Khamenei. Many interpreted the post as an effort to suggest that Omar supports Khamenei’s actions on the basis that they share the same religion.
In her tweet, Mace added a picture of the news about Khamenei’s death and wrote mockingly, “My heart goes out to Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib tonight. Sending them thoughts and prayers.” It’s safe to say that Omar absolutely dragged her. Not only did she accuse Mace of being drunk, but Omar also defended Tlaib.
“I hope you aren’t drunk and took your staff’s advice, Rashida and I don’t know this man and feel confident he didn’t care about us. Please restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for your self,” she wrote in her now viral tweet as she mentioned the holy month of Ramadan.

People were proud of Ilhan Omar for standing up to herself against Mace’s wild accusation. “I did a quick google search, Ilhan is Somali and Rashida is Palestinian, indeed what the [expletive] does it have to do with them ? Those maga people are so dumb…,” one person wrote. This made another person reply, “Oh, I grew up around these types let me explain: Theyre all Muslim. That’s it, that’s the whole thought. Theyre also too stupid to realize how stupid that is so social media allows for a broad and more public self humiliation.” Someone else called Mace racist as they said, “Not dumb. They’re malicious and racist. Practically trying to equate all Muslims with the actions of the Iranian regime. The ‘no more foreign wars’ representatives should be asking the government about the school that was bombarded instead.”
More people applauded Omar for her response as one person said, “I PRAY IN HIS HOLY MONTH YOU FIND PEACE AND RESPECT FOR YOURSELF IS SAVAGE.” This made another person reply, “The holy month part is sending me, she really said bless your heart in Islam.” Someone else said, “Absolutely brutal, and 95% of MAGA will miss the understanding.” One Redditor also liked Omar’s response as they said, “this is such beautifully crafted shade. The perfect response to that disgusting racist [expletive].” Another person expressed how angry they were with Mace’s tweet as they said, “what a bold, racist, Islamophobic comment all in one. Wow. A representative said this? Good on sis ilhan because my anger at the sheer audacity.” It definitely wasn’t nice.
