When paying $500 a night to stay at a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, one would expect premium services, including decent medical attention. Unfortunately, one guest says they found “No First Aid in the whole of Caesars Palace.” Going by Excellent-Painting-8 on Reddit, the hotel guest posted to r/LasVegas, explaining how they had fallen down and scraped their knee. They visited the front desk, which set off a wild-goose chase to find a single bandage.

When asking the employee at the front desk for a Band-Aid, Excellent-Painting-8 recalled the worker saying, “That is not an offered amenity.” OP was then directed to speak with security, who also said they didn’t have any bandages. “We then walked around asking multiple employees throughout the hotel, and every single one said they didn’t have any either,” Excellent-Painting-8 recalled.

“Like how is this legal?” they wrote in frustration. Luckily, there was a nearby shop open that sold bandages, but OP was still baffled that no one at Caesars Palace allegedly had a Band-Aid, at least among those they asked. Fortunately, several Redditors in the comments section offer reasons that could explain the hotel’s bandage shortage.

Reddit Claims This ‘Lack’ of Bandages Is Actually Common

One person claiming to have worked in security at Hollywood wrote, “They just don’t want to give them out because then they’d have to write a report.” Another who says they’ve worked at Caesars Properties had security send one individual a Band-Aid, “since we were a vendor and we didn’t need to do all that.” Others chimed in, agreeing that workers would not offer medical supplies to avoid having to fill out an incident report.

A Reddit user was particularly harsh towards the hotel, with its tendencies toward “incident report” avoidance. “That’s a major operational failure. Probably driven by some degree of litigation fear, but it’s excessive.” That said, Excellent-Painting-8’s story serves as a good reminder to anyone planning to stay at Caesars Palace: bring your own bandages!
