Forbes has accidentally leaked that Blizzard’s Diablo III will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch.

The Forbes piece was quickly taken down but you can see full images of the leaked article via this Reddit post (courtesy of u/Riomegon of the Nintendo Switch subreddit).

The Switch version of Diablo III will be called Diablo III: Eternal Collection. This collection will include the Rise of the Necromancer and Reaper of Souls expansion packs. Along with the expansions, Diablo III: Eternal Collection will contain “all the other added content the game has seen”.

You can play the Eternal Collection with up to four of your friends wirelessly or on a single Switch. The game will be apart of Nintendo’s online service and features cloud saving. Switch players will also receive some exclusive content such as “the Legend of Ganondorf cosmetic armor set, Tri-Force portrait frame, Chicken pet, and Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wings.”.

Finally, Diablo III: Eternal Collection will cost $59.99 and it is set to release on the Nintendo Switch sometime later this year.

Diablo III first released in 2012 for Windows and Mac. Since then, it has been ported to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to Kotaku, this will be the first Blizzard game to appear on a Nintendo platform in 15 years.

Diablo III

While I haven’t been a huge fan of the series, I did have a lot of fun with Diablo III. However, $60 on another re-release seems like a questionable call. Hopefully, the leaked exclusive content won’t be the only planned DLC for the platform.

What are your thoughts on Diablo heading to the Nintendo Switch? Will you be subscribing to Nintendo’s online service this September? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
