Dungeons and Dragons is a game of storytelling. Itโ€™s a tabletop RPG where you get to create hilarious and moving tales with friends and family. Itโ€™s a spoken play; a book written on a whim and the decisions of the players. Itโ€™s led to several content creators, authors, and artists to live streaming their own games.

Now several of those creators are getting to stream their game live on stage for Wizards of the Coast’s next live event.

D&D Live 2019: The Descent is May 17-19 in Los Angeles. The name is tied with their upcoming fifth edition book called Ghosts of Saltmarsh, which will include several adventures for Dungeon Masters to run on or around the ocean.

The three-day event will feature four mini-studios where groups who live stream their D&D games will get to play for a few hours. There will also be talk shows, interview segments, and other surprises they arenโ€™t ready to showcase quite yet.

Some of the groups will be familiar to anyone who caught past events such as the Stream of Many Eyes and Stream of Annihilation.

The Descent will be hosted by Anna Prosser, who has spent her career covering esports, gaming, and tabletop games. Sheโ€™s presented live events for Blizzard and Twitch; where she is the Managing Producer on the Creator Development team. She also plays paladin Evelyn on the D&D show Dice, Camera, Action!

More immersive and interactive than ever. The fun at #DnDLive2019 will include @DnD_AdvLeague! Attendees can play in an EPIC adventure of 25 tables collaborating to save the Forgotten Realms! Speaking of that specific show. Nine groups will be making an appearance on one of the four stages: Dice, Camera, Action!, Girls Guts Glory, Highrollers, Dragon Friends, Heroes of the Vale, Rivals of Waterdeep, Saving Throw Show: The Broken Pact, Tales from the Mist, and The Uncommon Trust.

Other guests already announced are Mica Burton from Rooster Teeth; Matthew Lillard of Scooby Doo; author Patrick Rothfuss; writer B. Dave Walters; and Daredevil actress Deborah Ann Woll, who did a fantastic job leading a group of adventurers in their battle against a green dragon last year.

The Descent will start Friday, May 17th at 4 pm and run through Sunday, May 19th at 5 pm PT.

Badges for the three-day event go on sale April 9th.

Wizards of the Coast will post the full schedule at a later date.
