A driver in Mobile, Alabama, was seen stationary in his pickup truck, refusing to move for heavy equipment on the road. As a result, both lines of traffic were completely blocked for an unspecified amount of time. The driver faced consequences, though, as local deputies arrested him on the spot.
Footage of the unmovable truck and the driver’s subsequent arrest was shared online by Double K Ranch. With ranch-oriented content as the account’s main focus, the clip attached above was off-brand. Still, it went viral, garnering 414,800 views, 21,500 likes, and more than 1,000 comments.
Footage shared by the Alabama account showed a pickup truck with Indiana license plates stopped right in the middle of the right lane. To the left, a tractor pulling what appears to be a dump trailer was visible, and a sheriff’s deputy was talking to the pickup truck driver.
Driver Arrested
According to Double K Ranch, the man refused to leave his traffic lane to go around the equipment. Apparently, he had already gone around a pilot truck and the flaggers before the video was recorded. His refusal to go around the tractor not only caused traffic to pile up but also infuriated other drivers. Still, the man wouldn’t move.
“He cussed out anyone who tried to talk to him,” the video’s description read. “I couldn’t go around because I was pulling my horse, so I was stuck there for a while because of this idiot.”
Eventually, another Mobile County Sheriff’s Office cruiser arrived, and other deputies joined the deputy already on scene talking to the driver. Meanwhile, drivers going south went around the tractor and the man’s truck. A back-and-forth followed, and the driver was eventually pulled out of his truck and handcuffed. He was allegedly charged with disorderly conduct.
“Hey Indiana, come and get your boy out of Mobile County,” the woman behind the Alabama ranch’s account said. “[…] These are the kind of videos I watch all the time. Now I’m getting a front-row seat.”
Reactions
The video sparked multiple responses, with most viewers cheering the man’s arrest. One said, “Bro ruined his future because he didn’t want to move for a tractor.” Another one commented, “That’s an expensive hill to die on.”
Others commented on road behavior regarding tractors and heavy equipment. One wrote, “Tractors have just as much right to be on the road as you do.” Another one added, “Number one rule: don’t [expletive] with farmers.”
Double K Ranch did show the man’s face along with the filed charges. It is safe to say that he won’t be messing around with tractors anymore.
