In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the explorer Arven will often be seen carrying unique ancient records from uncharted areas of the Paldea region, called the Scarlet Book or Violet Book, depending on which version of the game you have. These books depict new forms of some of the currently known Pokemon that might have come from Ancient times or the Future: the Paradox Pokemon. For example, the Ancient Paradox form of a Donphan will be called Great Tusk and available in the Scarlet Book, while Iron Treads is the Future Paradox form of Donphan and can only be seen in Pokemon Violet.
The Pokemon Company actually is keeping a tight lid on the existence of these Paradox Pokemon. However, weeks before Pokemon Scarlet and Violet officially hit the streets, the leaks managed to flood the internet first.
