Just show the match already

While the World Cup has been the talk of the town in many other countries, especially in Mexico and Canada, it seems that in the US, it hasn’t been as prominent, especially in the Fan Zones. Several residents from Los Angeles, California, have reported that official FIFA Fan Zones have missed US matches, which has forced many fans to look for different places to watch the games. Yet, some believe it might be due to scheduling issues or to many not believing the team would advance so far in the Cup.

Reddit user powersofi reported that some FIFA Fan Zones have missed both of the US later-stage matches. They believe it might be a matter of missing the schedule or just waiting for the matches to air on weekends, but this has still frustrated many fans. As some may know, these zones should focus on airing matches from their host countries, and while this has happened in the other two host countries, the US has fallen a bit behind.

Yet it seems this wasn’t the end for some World Cup fans, as they have looked for other venues to watch the matches around Los Angeles, California.

Among the other places, fans have reported that some have visited CityWalk, which many have dubbed the unofficial Fan Zone, as it seems it is showing all matches without scheduling issues. Some also mentioned that the Regent Theatre was packed during the match and also boasted a great environment for soccer fans.

California Fans Are Looking for Alternatives to Watch the US Matches

The above are only two that fans mentioned, but it seems that those in LA and even across the country have found better places to enjoy the World Cup.

“There are literally hundreds of choices to watch the game, and if anything, businesses besides FIFA are the winners. If you really want to be around a ton of people, go to COSM. GA admission is cheap, and it’s basically a huge sports bar with 100 screens plus the dome.“

“Yeah, it sucks with the scheduling, but thank goodness the city filled in the void, and others stepped up.“

Others, however, have joked that those in the Fan Zones do not believe in the US team, claiming that this might have been the reason for the scheduling problems.

“Feels like they weren’t expecting the US to make it this far.“

In the end, many hope the Fan Zones will start showing the important matches to draw in more World Cup fans to these areas.
