Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ finances plunged further as his famed Sean Johns got the boot from the shelves of major eyeglasses company. The rapper has been nose-deep in legal woes since the cops raided two of his homes weeks back in connection to sex trafficking allegations. Although Diddy has since denied the Sexual abuse claims against him, a video showing him beating up ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby has further cast doubt on his innocence. While the courts are yet to give a verdict though, companies and fellow celebrities alike have condemned the star, taking steps to cut ties with him.
The latest brand to jump that ship is America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, a major eyewear and eyecare company with numerous retail stores across the country. According to TMZ, stores received a message last Tuesday requesting the removal of all Sean Johns, Diddy’s company’s frames, from the frame boards. In their place, the stores mounted other frames with “appropriate price points” from understock.
The fate of these retracted Sean Johns remains unknown, especially with Diddy’s legal issues continuing to mount amid the sexual abuse scandal. The company has yet to address the reason behind this hasty decision to discontinue the sales of eyeglasses from Diddy’s company. However, the rapper’s recent succession of legal woes is a best bet.
Just last week, a disturbing video showing Diddy physically assaulting his ex Cassie Ventura surfaced online. The assault video, captured in surveillance footage from 2016 showed Diddy hitting, kicking and violently dragging Cassie through the floor of the hotel, validating her claims of physical and sexual abuse against him.
The rapper, who previously denied abusing his ex-girlfriend offered a public apology after the video leaked. But his apology has been widely perceived as insincere and “self-serving,” offered only because “he got caught.” Ultimately, several brands have severed ties with Diddy, to prove their aversion to his actions. Among these companies are Salxco, Revolt TV, and Peloton.
